Design of a vacation residence with a main house, a guest house and an outdoor pool
This vacation house is located on a large flat site divided in the middle by a stone wall, thus creating two terraces: the upper terrace is used as a location for the house, and the lower for a garden. The house consists of a main two story-high residential unit, and a detached one story-high building with guest quarters. The two elements are connected with a closed courtyard. Within a courtyard, there is a tavern with an elliptical floor plan, connected with the living room and the dining room, and having a large opening towards the terraces and a porch. The rounded shape of the tavern emphasises the atmosphere of the interior spaces, and with its form, it contrasts with the rest of the house. The ground floor of the main part of the house is used as a living area, whereas the first floor contains the bedrooms. The sleeping quarters have access to the porch and the large terrace, which offer views towards the port and the sea. The design is characterised with the use of traditional materials that are implemented in a contemporary way.
