Aialoft Villas

Unlimitedesign as Interior Architects

Aialoft project, which consists of 6 villas, has been designed by the founder of Unlimited Design, interior architect and designer Selina Kazazoglu. This striking project has been carefully designed to be compatible with its environment. Each villa has an open plan kitchen, large living area, 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms within a total of 180m² interior. The outdoor area consists of a 65m² swimming pool, a sun bathing terrace with sea views, a steel-wood combination pergola , 70m² of terraces and private outdoor parking. As the name suggests, the project is built around a “loft” concept. The rock surface on which the houses were built together with the trees and plants native to the Aegean, such as gum, olive, juniper, and thyme, insdpired the textures used by the designer. Natural terraces formed on the sloping hillside preserved and many of native plants have been incorporated into the landscaping, parallel to this concept, the exterior render were inspired by the natural environment in order to preserve the colour and texture coordination. The Ailoft project first attracts attention because of its huge north facing windows, whilst the south & west facades were designed with less glazing to minimize heat radiated from the hot summer sun. Thermowood cladding is also a very important material used mainly on the exteriorbut also extending towards the interior. The warmth of wood was balanced with the use of concrete. To preserve the spacious effect which the interiors create, the steel structure has been uncovered with also highlights the views, the high ceilling structure was designed to capture the spectacular view from every point of the house without detracting from the functionalities of the interior. Having the terraces and the interior at the same level, separated by the transparent glazing, with the leveled linear swimming pool is probably the detail that makes the interior and exterior relationship the most indispensable. Unusually large sized ceramic tiles on the floors give the feeling of a seamless texture which has less risk of discoloration. The villas were planned to be used as summer houses and were designed to overcome every need a family would have in a house, where one would only have to pick up their personal belongings and move to their summer home for a superb holiday. The built-in wardrobes, walk-in closets, ironing board- washer and dryer units, pantry, the Kitchen Island and preparation bar, wine cooler, barbecue area on the terrace, concealed air conditioning system and music system details were built exclusively into the project. All the houses have the basic needs of home automation where the owners could also put in extra automation control systems as they wish, thanks to the automation infrastructure that has been built.
