CAROLINA VARELA AESTHETIC CENTER

CAROLINA VARELA AESTHETIC CENTER

Jorge Figueroa + Asociados as Architects

The terrain The terrain faces Luis Pasteur Street; the west front has 34 mts. Of rectangular characteristics and according to the local rules, it is permitted to build 978 mts2 on three floors; the last one has to be retired to 45° of the facade.

General Idea The general idea comes of the will to generate “something more” than an aesthetic center. The goal is to create a relationship between the activity that here is practice and the beauty, with the warmth and the feeling of welcoming. The building suggests intimacy, nature, peace, harmony and health. It is a volume that turns around a central space of great proportions of lighting, which surprises and delivers warm. As the form of an “interior garden”, the spaces that surround it enjoy of an elegant and amazing sense of space. The main idea is to surprise with a space of peace, warmth and with a human scale, full of sensibility and beauty, very far away of the concept of “clinic”.

Living the Building The access is by a bridge that crosses above a water mirror. The idea of the water is to represent the pure, nature, and to follow the guest with a gentle noise. Also to separate the building with the street, generating a visual reflection of the water on the facade. Once on the interior, the central space is discover, as the form of an “interior garden”. Around the central space, on the right is the hairdressing, with an independent access for Saturdays. At the back are the offices, and on the left there are more offices and the access to the parking area. On the central space there is a great stair/ramp that goes from the first to the third floor. On the second floor, are the attentions and massage boxes. On the third floor, are the dressings, bathrooms and gym. Following the course, an exterior stair leads from the third floor to the roof top, that it is proposed as a lookout, relaxing space, meditation and exterior massages.
