Masisa Horizontes
Masisa, one of the leading producers and marketers of wood boards for furniture and architecture in Latin America, announced its new portfolio of design and brands under the name" Horizontes ". This portfolio is the result of a partnership with leading Mexican design professionals that culminated in the creation of an exclusive collection distinguished by its original creative concepts. The new portfolio, made with 100 % sustainable materials, meets the latest global trends in architecture and industrial design.
In the exhibition, Masisa created four indoors with signature pieces of furniture designed by some of the most renowned exponents of Mexican design: Ariel Rojo, Emiliano Godoy, Savvy Studio and ROW Studio. The designers sought to highlight the attributes of the four Masisa product categories: Panelart ®, MDFsmart, Wilsonart ® and Naturart, achieving environments full of vitality and energy, representing the future of design in Mexico.
Diner by ROW Studio
Inspired by the iconic red and white checkered tablecloth present in restaurants around the world, ROW developed an innovative and modular furniture system and space for a café. This radical and risky environment gives us the feeling of space and freshness. For its development, Northumbrian Tartan was used as reference, one of the oldest and simplest. It also has a system of staves with a 45 ° slope to give continuity to the overall pattern, wrap and divide space. All parts are coated with High Pressure Laminate Wilsonart® Masisa on MDF panels.
ROW Studio is an architecture and design firm directed by Álvaro Hernández Felix, Nadia Hernández Felix and Alfonso Maldonado Ochoa. Its name derives from the term used in economy to refer to global phenomena (ROW: Rest of the World), as a critical standpoint against the clichés of Mexican architecture and the need to generate an international discourse both in processes and proposals departing from a multidisciplinary approach.
