The shopping centre was extensively refurbished in 2011 at a cost of €11 million. During the refurbishment Aberdeen took the opportunity to improve the efficiency of the assets by renewing heating, ventilation and lighting systems. Tenants are now able to control and monitor these systems to better meet their business requirements. Subject to final assessment of the refurbishment and improvement in efficiency it is anticipated that the centre will be rated as BREEAM – Refurbishment Silver
