Log Home Renovation and Rebuild 2014

Mattson Interiors as artists

The Summer was long, hot, and dirty. In all we had 30 different people in the project, Log Home Rebuild 2014. The project took all Summer from November, when purchasing the property, until the late Summer month of May 2014. We had drama between contractors, drama at Menard's, Home Depot, and Lowe's. Couponing is the only way to keep costs down to a minimum. Price matching at Best Buy is a challenge that Our president of the Rebuild 2014 project has down to a SCIENCE. Labor weighs more than supplies and time IS money. We hold no job for a single contractor, who ever gets to the site first gets to choose the job that they do that day. Making lists of supplies needed and jobs needed to be done first cuts trips to the stores and time. The clean up on a renovation is the worst it gets, although hand sanding an entire log home with cedar logs for preparation of staining in the summer is brutal. It is all worth it in the end. The Project was a winner.. We all learned so much about patience, collaboration, and determination.
