This studio-house for an artist is immersed in the rural area of Perez. This town, located west of Rosario, Argentina, is characterized by a large presence of metallurgical industries and a high concentration of agricultural activity related to flower farming. This results in an urban landscape in coexistence with fields of crops and warehouse buildings. The project site is a 46 x 100 meters lot within a farm specialized in plant nurseries. The studio-house is placed near a eucalyptus forest intended to be used as protection for the southern winds. The massing diagram is the sum of the live/work area. Both roof outlines reminiscent of the surrounding industrial warehouses. In one of its sides a small courtyard and pond allows it to capture natural light to workshop area and at the same time generates a more intimate space and protection against the outside environment. The whole structure is made of steel and previously manufactured in workshops. This procedure helped to provide all materials to the site and to optimize the construction progress. The entire exterior is clad in black corrugated metal sheet to avoid unwanted reflections. Once inside, all becomes white as a canvas waiting to be intervened. One single space to develop a new way of living and working. Almost indivisible activities for an artist.
