Restaurant 65 Thbis

Restaurant 65 Thbis

By Benoit/ADN designer as Designers

“Good design for a good price” is an apt description of the new restaurant transformed by the ADN designer and ByBenoît interior design agencies.

The interior design and practical layout of the65 Thbis restaurant has been completelyreworked, creating a dining area bursting with bright ideaswhile preserving its “neighbourhood bar” atmosphere! A word of explanation:

The 65 Thbis restaurant at 17 rue Treilhard in Paris’ 8th arrondissement called on the expertise ofCédricDesfontaines(from ADN designer) andBenoîtHigel (from the By Benoît agency) to rethink completely the design of its dining area within the confines of a limited budget. The result is a radically transformed dining area and the creation of space for a dozen additional diners.

The 65 Thbisboasts a large body of habitués who like to come back regularly to meet their friends in a relaxed environment. The design agencies took this feature as their guiding principle when working together on the new colour scheme and decorations with a view to accentuating the restaurant’s warm atmosphere and making it a place of outstanding cosy refinement.

ADN designer and By Benoît had the audacity to adopt a subtle combination of noble materials, chosen simply for design purposes, placed in a setting with walls painted shades of grey, red and off-white contrasting with a taupe-coloured floor, surrounded by reasonably priced objects of invariably good taste. The result is a rich diversity of original ideas that, together, create a unique harmonious atmosphere within the restaurant.

No detail has been overlooked. One example is the reorganization of the way the staff move through the restaurant, made much more fluid thanks to a time-and-motion study carried out as they were serving meals. The position of the tables and the spaces between them have been reworked, enabling the team of waiters to save time and provide fast, efficient service. Particular attention has also been paid to the lighting, to emphasize this warm and friendly atmosphere.

The 70 sq. m. dining area can now welcome more than 100 patrons in the space of just 2 hours! Another gamble that paid off is the creation of a Wall of Fame, entrusted to a young photographer freshly graduated from Brussels’ Le SeptanteCinq School of art. Thanks to this wall of photographs, new and old friends can trace the history of the 65 Thbis.

This project follows on from the collaboration between the two design agencies on the Marquise de Sevigné concept store located Place de la Madeleine in Paris.
