The ISH 2011 in Frankfurt will see the European indoor climate specialist Zehnder unveil the Avento Neo designer radiator, specially designed to form an energy-efficient combination with modern low-temperature systems such as heat pumps, solar heating systems or condensing boilers. The Zehnder Avento Neo (Neo = new energy optimised) stands out thanks to the enormous degree of energy efficiency provided by its powerful radiant heat and switchable, integrated fans, which quickly and efficiently boost the heat output to reach the desired comfort level.
The Zehnder Avento Neo offers a range of specific advantages, including virtually unlimited connection options thanks to the patented Zehnder EasyTube system and compact dimensions - quite unlike the relatively large heating surfaces of comparable conventional radiators for low-temperature systems. The Zehnder Avento Neo has already won an award for its exemplary energy efficiency at the BAU 2011 in Munich, as part of the "Praxis Altbau - Preis für Produktinnovation 2011" competition held by the German national working group on the renovation of old buildings.
With its Avento Neo, a product that ideally coordinates heat generation and heat transmission whilst keeping system temperatures to a minimum, Zehnder has made it perfectly clear which radiator will in future be the ideal choice for connecting to a modern, environmentally-friendly heating technology system. A three-layer sandwich construction has been developed for the Zehnder Avento Neo in which all three layers inside the radiator are heated directly and individually. This enables the radiator to achieve a really high level of efficiency, providing as much as five times the output of a conventional radiator designed for low-temperature systems. This output is further enhanced by the use of the latest graphite technology.
All three heating layers are made of this extremely efficient heat-conducting material, which is why the Zehnder Avento Neo is also able to boast exceptionally fast response times. What's more, the layered construction comes with another hugely practical benefit: instead of the conventional fins, a flat air duct is all that separates each heating layer from the others, making the radiator especially easy to clean and able to meet the most stringent hygiene requirements.
Ventilation support is available for the Zehnder Avento Neo as an option, enabling the radiator to reach the desired room temperature even more quickly. Between 6 and 15 small fans (depending on the installation size) distribute the warm air quickly and efficiently throughout the room at three different blowing speeds. Additionally, the boost mode can double the radiator's output for short periods of time. Despite their powerful output, the use of the fans save a huge amount of energy: even on full power, they use no more electricity than a domestic TV set in standby mode. Once the desired room temperature has been reached, an integrated control unit instantly reduces the speed of the fans. Furthermore, the Zehnder Avento Neo can also be used as a "cooling element". When cold water enters the system via a heat pump, for instance, the fans can be used to cool and refresh the room.
The virtually unlimited connection options of the Zehnder Avento Neo offer yet another advantage, particularly in the context of refurbishment work. Thanks to the new, patented Zehnder EasyTube System, the flexible pipes with special connecting elements can be clicked precisely into place wherever they are needed in the radiator frame. This means that connections can be freely selected at the side and bottom of the radiator. Moreover, the Zehnder Avento Neo can be easily and quickly fitted into all types of existing connection pipe work.
The Zehnder Avento Neo is also remarkable thanks to its compact dimensions, which represent a major advantage over conventional low-temperature radiators which tend to take up large surface areas. Available in a range of installation sizes with heights of between 500 and 700 mm and lengths of between 900 and 1800 mm, the Zehnder Avento Neo is suitable for practically every installation situation. And it goes without saying that the new heat pump radiator comes in a variety of colours and surface finishes.
Its short response times, excellent energy efficiency and flexible connection options make the Zehnder Avento Neo the perfect radiator for connecting to a modern, environmentally-friendly heating system in the context of refurbishment projects and new buildings – it can even be combined with an underfloor heating system or used in Passivhaus buildings.
