The Red Dot Awards are one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. From now on, Orac Decor® will be able to label its indirect lighting profile "Wave" with the "Red Dot", an international seal of recognition for outstanding design, thanks to its abundance of character and timeless concept. C364 in context Wave: an elegant and timeless lighting profile "Wave" is the fruit of collaboration between the designer Pierre Daems and ORAC. The cornice conceals an indirect LED lighting system, which provides subtle lighting effects. Its flowing lines are a particularly distinctive feature of the design. The international Red Dot jury commended the product for its elegant and timeless character. Furthermore, the product was said to effortlessly combine aesthetics and functionality. The product is made of Purotouch®, a robust yet light polyurethane mix. If the "Wave" is painted in the same colour as the walls, the profile seems to become completely one with the wall. The LED bars are economical, environmentally-friendly, and have a long lifespan. C364 Red Dot Product Design Award: a prestigious international award Ever since it was first presented in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award has been one of the world's biggest design competitions. The competition is organised by the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre, and prizes are awarded in three categories: product design, communication design and design concept. For the Red Dot Product Design Award 2014, the organisation received around 4,500 entries from manufacturers coming from more than 50 countries. ORAC received the official award on 7 July in Essen. The "Wave", as an award-winning product, now has the right to carry the "Red Dot" label as a symbol of international recognition for outstanding design.
