The upholstery used in the Middle Ages as a decorative or representational medium as far as thermal insulation is a vector object to affect our contemporary cultures.
Traditionally, the final shape of the tapestry comes from the loom. This project proposes to use to cross braiding and folding techniques to create a new relief pattern.
"SPRINGBREAK" and "EXTREME STUNT" are textile hanging objects composed of a central frame of felt cut around which are braided by fabric strips. The tapes, printed upstream, are threaded through the diagonal to achieve a herringbone pattern. Acting as pixels, rafters offer a reading of the image that tends toward abstraction.
The composite image revisits the same subject ancestral tapestry. The scenes pay tribute to episodes of daily life such as a group of American students celebrating springbreak in a pool or a car cascade that turns to disaster.
