The SolarMax P series string inverters specifically developed for solar plants up to 6kWp were presented for the first time at Intersolar Europe 2012. With high efficiencies of up to 98%, the P series offers maximum reliability, comfort, and flexibility and is adjusted ideally to the needs of small-scale PV plants. Biel, 11 June 2012: The five new P inverters in the power output range of up to 5kW complement SolarMax's offer in the field of private solar plants. With their focus on flexible application options and best-possible connection comfort, the P series inverters guarantee the highest possible yield specifically for roof-mounted systems on single family homes and multiple dwellings.

Optimisation of the solar generator The SolarMax 4000P, 4600P and 5000P devices are characterised by two MPP trackers with an input current of 10A in each case that can be operated both in dual and in single tracker mode. With the help of the dual tracker concept, difficult conditions such as east-west arrangements or an odd number of modules can be mastered without any problems. This way, it is possible to utilise the entire roof surface area ideally for power generation and to achieve the highest possible yields. Yield losses caused by partial shading can also be minimised by using the dual trackers. High operational safety thanks to passive cooling The SolarMax P inverters are cooled passively. The heat generated during operation is dissipated vertically by means of natural convection. For this, the inverter must only be attached to a wall in order to bring about the required chimney effect and to provide for permanent cooling. Passive cooling makes the devices less prone to malfunctions or failures and, thus, reduces the risk of yield decrease. Simple connection concept for more clarity Thanks to a terminal area integrated into the inverter (AC terminals, as well as communication interfaces), the fitter saves both working time and material. Moreover, the connections have a larger cross-section, which is why even large distances can be bridged with the lowest losses.

"Regarding inverters, safety and handling range amongst the most important quality features, along with the performance. With the P series, we first and foremost wanted to facilitate installation and commissioning of smaller plants. Handling the inverters is particularly simple and, thus, time- and cost-saving. Integrated communication features and customer-specific configuration options provide for further advantages for system operators," said Olaf Geistlinger, senior product manager for the SolarMax string inverters. Communication by simple action

Thanks to Plug&Play, both simply connecting to commercially available internet routers and establishing a direct connection to a local computer are no problem using the Ethernet interface. This way, the inverters can be configured using the MaxTalk software, for example. Furthermore, plant operators can have the performance data of the plant displayed at any time at home using the cost-free MaxMonitoring App The App is available for iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, and Android smartphones. All P series devices are reliable Swiss quality inverters, secure long-term and trouble-free operation of each plant, and will presumably be available as of June 2013.
