Slice

Slice is a series of light fixtures that emerge from flat pieces of laminated leather. True to its namesake, the Slice light takes its form from a series of strategic digital slices. The length and spacing of each slice in the leather determines the shape of the light fixture as it stretches under its own weight upon being suspended. The openings that result from the leather stretching modulate the light from within. A combination of veg tan leather and upholstery grade leather are used to achieve the right stiffness, tactility and colour . The Slice series includes a range of shapes, functionalities and configurations. Each piece is carefully crafted by Form & Forest from our design studio based in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Golden BC. The full Slice range will soon be available on our online store and select retailers. Form and Forest is a boutique design studio based in the Canadian Rockies with a focus on projects and products defined by their deceptive simplicity and innovative use of materials. Form and Forest is run by two brothers, Ryan and Jeff Jordan. Ryan is an Industrial Designer who takes care of the design while Jeff takes care of business.
