Porcelain stoneware floor tiles

From the beginning, natural stone has always been a central theme at gres|steuler, the porcelain stoneware brand from Steuler-Fliesen. Right at the start there was the “Stone Collection” – a best-of in natural stone. The first three series in the collection feature gneiss, marl and Jura marble. “But something was still missing in this series,” says Matthias Hansel, Head of Export Sales. This gap has now been filled. “Slate” is the name of the logical addition. It shows popular slate in technical perfection. Just like its “sibling” series, it combines a natural stone look with all the benefits of ceramic.

As far as uses are concerned, “Slate” is pure universal genius. It suits any room thanks to its gentle slate grey. The rather neutral colouring is livened up by the variable, natural structure of the surface. The variety of formats opens up multiple design options. There are large (75 x 75 cm) and smaller (37.5 x 37.5 cm) squares, rectangles (37.5 x 75 cm) and a decorative strip. While the 75 cm version really comes into its own in large rooms, the smaller one also looks great in small bathrooms. All formats can also be used in the property industry thanks to the R-10 surface finish.

The highlight of the series is the decorative tiles: small squares and hexagons, plain as well as nine different graphical motifs. The discreet application of glass granules gives rise to exciting effects. “The hexagons are a real eyecatcher,” says Matthias Hansel, “the inspiration for them came from the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. There are natural hexagons there – a mood of nature that we capture and enhance.” Thus rounding off the natural collection perfectly.
