A collection including a stool, a high stool, low tables, and a dining table, designed for the Austrian furniture brand Gebrüder Thonet Vienna well-known for its bentwood products. While the brand’s trademark bentwood feature remains, the fact that only a single location is bent rather than the overall structure is the theme of this collection. Because of this, the pieces do not give the immediate impression of bentwood furniture, but upon closer inspection one notices that the technique is indeed used. The utmost care was taken to ensure that the materials, part sizes, and proportions all remain true to traditional THONET design. The combination of straight lines with a single bent section creates a strong sense of contrast, which in turn further highlights the attraction of the bentwood design.
