A free design reign was perfect for this project. A well-used external access of just one floor needed something more aspirational to utilise a large space in an eye catching way. The customer did want something which had a nautical element, but nothing to over the top. This eye catching and original staircase ticks all the right boxes. The original 3D captured designed renders captured the imagination of the architects and the final result was just as beautiful.
A large, open curve in the centre which doubles up at a metal balustrade makes this staircase almost a sculpture in its own right. The fanning slatted treads are European Oak which, really contrast well against the otherwise black staircase. The simple plain round bar balustrade, actually softens and connects to a glass balustrade at the top.
