Curtain collection Mazzo combines ravishing beauty with high techniques. Striking aspects are the unusually long repeats and ingenious colour applications.

Jeroen Vinken developed his Mazzo Esteso (extended bouquet in Italian) using a computer-operated jacquard weaving machine; a technique, which makes it possible to weave complicated fabrics.

His starting point was one pattern, a colourful flower design, from which he created six new patterns by stretching, distortion, substitution or altering the colour of the original.

All the designs are realised using only four colours of yarn, which are ingeniously combined into a kaleidoscope of 190 tints, which display a vast variety of intensity and brightness.

Even though in some of the designs the flowers are distorted beyond recognition, the link between all the designs remains evident, which makes the Mazzo collection particularly suitable for decorating a building where the different rooms fulfil different functions and require different atmospheres.

Uniquely, the repeats are between 36 and 96 metres long, so a pattern is seldom repeated within the same room. The design of Mazzo Esteso is approx 93 metre long.

The fabrics are woven using Trevira CS; a flame retarding polyester yarn.
