Louis is a wooden analog speaker designed by Paolo Cappello for Newblack that mimics the sound of retro vinyl records.
Suitable for all smartphones, the unique instrument amplifies the music saved on the device from its trumpet-like opening.
The design draws upon the iconic gramophone shape through its subtle curved form and inverted valve. The sound which is projected from the its center, expels a vintage quality, adding a new nostalgic layer to to the existing song.
Louis is available in three different colours; natural, graphite and yellow and comes with a specially tailored app (available on the App Store) that creates a true dialogue between Louis and the iphone, once the telephone is placed on its dock the vintage valve turns on and music comes out, a magic made possible thanks to smartphone’s sensors and the shape of Louis.
