The modular seating system Linea stems from the need often arising in architectural design to create a seamless succession of seats by designing linear compositions that become sinuous in order to decorate public spaces, create paths in them and define areas.
The inspiration comes from the protagonist of the animated cartoon” La Linea” (The Line), created by the pen of Osvaldo Cavandoli, which became very popular in Italy and around the world from the 60s onwards – a character walking on an infinite line of which it is part.
The Line encounters many obstacles on its path and turns to the cartoonist to ask him to draw the solution to the problem with his pencil. Likewise the Linea modules, designed with two or three seats and decorative intersecting lines sewn on the back rest, may be placed one next to the other or be separated by several shelves that make it possible to bend the path. Both seats and shelves can be used also independently, thus creating a waiting area for two or three with shelves that can be placed next to or in front of the seats.
