We are pleased to announce the exhibition of a new collection of glass pendant and chandelier lighting from artist and designer Jamie Harris. Harris’ lighting chandeliers transforms his sense of color and fluid organic form into a sophisticated lighting design, shown in a variety of hand-blown shapes. The 2015 collection includes the new Lillypad Chandelier and the Modernist Linear Chandelier (designed collaboratively with artist Moshe Bursuker), pieces that draw upon Harris’ play on geometric symmetry and altered forms. All of his lighting is custom done; the shapes and colors can be easily configured to suit any individual project.
Additionally, Harris has expanded upon his exploration of unique, hand-blown glass wall installations this year. His glass wall installations combine a bright, playful use of color with architectural shapes and forms that transform spaces. Each installation is formed from glass elements, layered with color in the glassblowing furnace and then hand-carved to reveal the decorative motifs spilling out from each piece. Fun, playful, and dramatic, each installation is a one-of-a-kind conversation between the sculpture and the space it occupies.
The new Dimpled Mirrored Discs wall installation plays on the tension between the constraint of the geometric forms and the undulation of the slashed surfaces; the mirroring sensuously highlights the sculpted forms while allowing the colored surfaces to bounce off of each other, allowing the color to blend between the glass forms and their environment.
A complete artist statement and resume, along with a cd of images, is enclosed. Please contact us for any additional information.
