This LightBox uses LED lights and a USB-rechargeable battery unit encased in acrylic platelets to create an object that is part desk lamp, part puzzle, and part sculpture. Rotating and arranging the platelets changes which layers of the cube are illuminated, and multiple configurations can be combined to create new various light levels. Its design is intended to evoke the creation of ideas and inspire great creators who have gone before. It is adaptable, re-arrangeable, utilitarian, and filled with meaning.
INTO MYSTERY is a multi-year project comprised of 18 clues presented to the public as part of a Kickstarter campaign. It has its roots in The Mystery on Fifth Avenue, a complex and engaging mystery that was created by 212box as a journey of inspiration and discovery for one family. INTO MYSTERY takes that same goal, and those same ingredients, and remixes them into something that is available to anyone, globally, and on a much larger scale.
The ultimate goal of INTO MYSTERY is to construct a 160-story tower, and to offer it as a monument to inspiration, creativity, and human endeavor. The project taps into the Kickstarter community - the trusted makers of all things creative - to fund the first structure of its kind. Not built by any government or private corporation, this building’s creation relies solely on those with a passion for puzzle solving, architecture, and the future of a new creative, global community. Each clue corresponds to one of eighteen ClueChambers contained (and cantilevered) within this structure. With advanced new construction materials and construction techniques, 212box will build this iconic monument and spectacle. Once the project has been constructed, supporters will receive privileged access to the part of the building they helped to fund. It will be one of the first buildings with such a close relationship between those who get to explore it and those who made it possible.
