Koramic’s range of braised blue and weathered clay rooftiles.

Braised Tiles
Blue-grey braising is actually a special baking technique used for clay roof tiles. The technique of braising is also referred to as "reduction firing." In the reduction method, oxygen is removed during the firing process. In this manner, the bodies of the tiles take on a characteristic blue-grey colouring. Surface treatment are applied before firing so that during the reduction firing, a strong bond is created between the layer of engobe finish and the body of the tile.

Weathered Patina
The authentic weathered appearance of Koramic’s weathered clay roof tiles is achieved through special treatment of the unfired tiles. After firing they receive the characteristic patina of centuries-old tiles and combine the charm and power of expression of the old tiles with the quality of new tiles.
