The collection “Isole” designed by Marco Piva for Lithea, arises from the link between history and architecture in Sicily.
The design concept refers to the objects and ornaments that animated the rooms dedicated to wellness and bathing in the Sicilian Baroque era palaces and villas. The “ISOLE” project has been greatly inspired also by the local materials, fascinating materials that tell about intense geological transformations occurred in the Island and reinterpreted here to generate new shapes.
Basins and countertops are developed (can be matched) freely, the stone is turned into rich surfaces pleasant to feel, touch and see, joining with iron elements that call to memory the balustrades and all the craftsmanship and the Island traditional manufacture.
The “Isole” collection evokes the Mediterrean spaces, the multisensory perceptions of light, water and scents of Sicily, recalling ancient signs and shapes, made essential to become contemporary objects.
Moreover, elegant texture motives have been transferred on marble, as if they are embroideries that unveil intrinsic stone and marble vibes, graphic elements, shadows.
The “Isole” collection includes three solutions of basins, that can be freestanding or on top, with the possibility of three different bases. The design peculiarity is founded also in the fact that the pieces are interchangeable, resulting modular and capable of various furnishing solutions.
Isole: a tribute to the history of SIcily, Lithea’s homeland, revisited by Marco Piva in a contemporary style.
