Rowlux® is a multi-lensed thermoplastic film that manipulates light to create a variety of unique and interesting visual effects. Rowlux gets its appearance of depth and motion from thousands of minute parabolic lenses that are molded into the surface on both sides of the film. These lenses create a pattern of absorption and reflection of light which results in optical characteristics that are remarkable. "Shimmering silk", "stardust sparkles", "bubbles" and "satin flame" are some of the ways this material has been described.

A wide range of standard colors and designs are readily available in polycarbonate (PC) material. In addition, other resins such as flexible PVC and PETG have been manufactured for various markets and applications. These materials lend themselves to many downstream processing methods. Printability is the key to Rowlux. Silk screening, litho and flexo are just a few of the printing methods that have been successfully utilized on Rowlux. Polycarbonate and PETG can be easily hot stamped for rich and varied effects. Rowlux can also be easily die- cut, scored, and adhesively bonded to many different substrates.

Applications for Rowlux are as varied as the imagination allows. Salvador Dali and Roy Lichtenstein, among other great artists, have used Rowlux to create highly valued works of art. It has been used in award-winning packaging, architectural interiors, point-of-purchase displays, vending machines, apparel and accessories, business and greeting cards, decals, home furnishings, multimedia packaging and many other ingenious applications.
