Cosmic presents The Grid, pure architectural inspiration and the finest design in complete bathroom fittings.

The Grid once again emphasizes how design remains the essence of the Cosmic brand. This new collection, presented at the 2016 Milan Salone del Mobile is a proposal of architectural inspiration designed to equip bathrooms with a comprehensive range of furniture, basins and highly creative, functional accessories. Designer Ricard Ferrer based his concept on the dialogue between parallel lines, developing proportional shapes that together build a story.

All the parts making up the collection are based on prisms that make a statement. In the words of the designer, “this is a formal proposal in which the structures become objects and micro architectures that configure a whole network of uses.” The Grid is like a puzzle of pieces that fit into each other. All of which have been designed to provide maximum functionality.

The wash basins, available in 60cm, 80cm, and 100cm and manufactured in solid surface Cristaplant Biobased©, may be installed with or without a unit. They also include an innovative new system, the water container, which allows water to be retained during personal hygiene such as shaving. Once the water is no longer needed, with Cristaplant Biobased© the container is levered up to drain the water.

The unit with one drawer features technological solutions for a modern lifestyle: a LED light that automatically lights up when the drawer is opened; a socket and a stereo speaker with Bluetooth connection.

This set can be completed with a lower module available with a fixed or sliding shelf for storage items on display.

The collection is complemented with two auxiliary elements: a module and a unit, that provide a designer ensemble.

The auxiliary module, including a fixed or sliding shelf and can be installed on one or both sides of the basin, although it can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom. The 80cm wide auxiliary unit features two large shelves framed into the same structure used in the collection. This is completed with a shelf on the upper part. The size of the unit is designed to be combined (by width and height) with Cosmic’s Upgrade baths, although it can easily be installed in any other area of the bathroom.

The collection includes sleek mirrored cabinets designed to combine with the 35cm or 55cm towel bars from the collection. The mirrors are double-sided with reversible door and three adjustable, smoked glass shelves inside.

Multi-usage accessories

The Grid includes a wide range of accessories inspired in its architecture and geometric proportions. Some of the pieces have been designed to provide double usage. Prime examples are the container, which, depending on the installation, can be used as a towel-shelf, and the brush holder / soap dish, which can alternatively become a double capacity brush holder.

Another example is the portable unit which includes a toilet paper holder, toilet brush, and waste bin, and also has an extra storage space in the top. A clear example of combining design with maximum functionality.

The accessories combine chrome, matte white or matte black finishes with white acrylic glass. The stool and towel stand are available with the seat and shelving in acrylic glass, as well as the same veneered oak wood used in the furniture from the collection. This wood is PEFC/FSC certified.

Special features for the shower area

The Grid incorporates special features in the shower area integrating a shower bench/seat, made of Solid Surface. The bench/seat is an original feature that includes a section for storage on one side. Measuring 65x29x18cm, it has a proven resistance of up to 150 kilos.
