At the 2012 Fuorisalone Alcantara will be presenting the “The Future Landscape” installation at Superstudio Più. Curated by Giulio Cappellini, Art Director of the brand, this project offers an interpretation of the material that presents both its current and future “green” qualities.

As well as its well-known aesthetic, sensory and functional qualities, Alcantara® has great respect for the environment, as demonstrated by its TÜV “Carbon Neutral” certification, its Sustainability Report and the many international projects connected with renewable energies that the Italian company has been involved with for numerous years.

The automotive world is also increasingly attentive to the ecosystem and one of its goals in the near future is the continued reduction of vehicle emissions.
Alcantara and Porsche, the prestigious German carmaker, have shared this commitment for years and during the Fuorisalone they will be unveiling the results of their most recent partnership: a Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid with Alcantara® interiors designed by Giulio Cappellini for this truly unique automobile.

Cappellini interprets Porsche’s “green” vocation by highlighting the sporty and high quality detailed features for which both brands
are renowned. The white Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid is uniquely kitted-out in a combination of Alcantara® and brown leather. The warm pale grey cockpit alternates smooth materials with micro-perforated materials and is embellished by an original square decoration on a white background at the centre of the seat. The perfect blend of technology, elegance and design.

The “Porsche Intelligent Performance” project offers greater power with reduced consumption and greater efficiency with lower CO2 emissions, and the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid is its finest example thanks to the combination of technology (full Hybrid) and materials of an optimised weight.

Alcantara®, much lighter than any other material that can be used for automotive interiors, plays a key role in reducing the weight of vehicles, as Porsche - which also regularly uses the material for the interiors of super sports and superlight interiors and some Porsche 911 models – is only too well aware
