Floor insulation, Inner walls Insulation and Roof insulation

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation is 100 percent glass. It is an insulating material composed of millions of completely sealed glass cells. It is manufactured from sand, limestone, and other abundantly available, natural occurring materials, as well as recycled glass content (> 60%), either from our own scrap or from post-industrial glass.

FOAMGLAS® is high performance, long lasting, durable and environmentally friendly insulation for the entire building envelope and it has an exceptional combination of product properties:

Waterproof FOAMGLAS® insulation is water and vapor proof. As an all-glass, 100% closed cell material it retains all the water-resistant properties of glass. Benefit: No moisture absorption, no condensation, no swelling of FOAMGLAS® insulation resulting in a constant thermal insulation value.

Impervious to water vapour Each glass cell is hermetically sealed during the manufacturing process ensuring that FOAMGLAS® insulation is totally impervious to water vapor and to all other gases. Benefit: FOAMGLAS® insulation does not require the use of a vapor barrier.

Non-combustible FOAMGLAS® insulation is made of pure glass, is non-combustible and also non-absorbent. Benefit: Safe storage and a safe installation. As an inorganic material FOAMGLAS® insulation will not burn or support combustion. It has no flame spread or smoke development.

High compressive strength FOAMGLAS® insulation gives exceptionally high compressive strength without deformation under permanent load. Benefit: FOAMGLAS® insulation will not compress or settle and provides full support to foundation slabs, parking structures and dynamic or static loads, without thermal bridges.

Dimensionally stable FOAMGLAS® insulation is dimensionally stable, as glass does not shrink or swell. Benefit: No warping or buckling with FOAMGLAS® insulation. It remains stable since it has a similar expansion/contraction coefficient to concrete or steel construction. This gives a minimum of stress to the insulation system, joints and coverings as temperature changes. Preventing excessive expansion/contraction of insulation materials is the best way to ensure that the system remains sealed against moisture.

Resistant to Insects, Termites and Rodents FOAMGLAS® insulation is inorganic, it will not be damaged by insects or rodents and will not rot in the long term. It is termite resistant. Benefit: Safe insulation of underground constructions, as FOAMGLAS® insulation provides no food nor nesting source for birds or vermin and does not support the growth of micro-organisms such as mold or fungi and bacteria.

Acid, Chemical and Oil resistant FOAMGLAS® insulation is resistant to oil, organic solvents and nearly all acids, since it is made of pure glass. Benefit: No destruction of the insulation by sour gas or other corrosive media and aggressive plant conditions. The chemical resistance of glass has been universally recognized.

Easily cut to shape FOAMGLAS® insulation can be easily cut, shaped and installed on site or is available prefabricated. Depending on project requirements, FOAMGLAS® insulation can be easily cut on site using a hard-point saw and other simple tools. Ecological

FOAMGLAS® insulation is free of environmentally damaging flame-retardants and propellants, no relevant eco-toxic components. Benefit: after generations of use as thermal insulation, FOAMGLAS® insulation can be recycled: as filler in landscaping or thermally insulating granulate. Meaningful ecological recycling through re-uses.
