FLAP sound-absorbing panels’ system (design by Alberto and Francesco Meda) has this year been awarded with a Compasso d’Oro, the older and most influential international design award. This is the jury motivation: "Compasso d’Oro for a free and versatile system that presents a new solution for invisible problems such as sound and noises". Flap is manufactured according to the Snowsound® technology; it is a patented product consisting of material with variable densities that achieves selective absorption at different frequencies. This product is meant to reduce acoustic reverberation in a room and thanks to the absence of frames, it is extremely light.
