Children love fairy tales because they feed their imagination and give them new sparks to create their own; they love even more to tell stories, epic and magic tales they are eager to share.
With this thought in mind, I worked on the Fabulous Wall project and I designed a system that could contain children’s drawing, books, tales and inspirations whether in their bedroom or at the nursery. Fabulous Wall results, firstly, in many coloured modules that can be wedged in (assembly) to frame a “magic” bookshelf adaptable to any room’s size.
Fabulous Wall is then a workstation where children can literally sketch their stories. Its design allows indeed the integration of small desks within the shelves. A paper roll is adjusted to run on the desks. The roll will flow through the modules following the “path” chosen while they are assembled.
We have different sizes of modules that can be wedged in with 3 type of hooks and fastened with screws. The paper roll moves along and around the Fabulous Wall following a track of special pins.
The modules are interchangeable and available in different colours. Their plates have little holes resulting in a “drilled pattern” appearance. The modules are available in yellow, red, blue, orange, green or purple.
The association of colours, primary and secondary, helps to enhance the kid’s creativity and offer a simple way of teaching the colour’s theory.
The double side system also allows the children to use the workstation at the same time helping their interaction. With the Fabulous Wall, beautiful tales will come to life.
