Malagana Design has you thinking “outside the box” in a literal sense. With its cantilevered modules stacked upon each other at a single angled point, the Equilibrium bookcase is a unique furniture piece that immediately catches attention by creating a sense of amusement and surprise.

Equilibrium is a five-module stacked shelving system that is fun and forward-thinking. It pushes design boundaries with its tilt design that seems to defy gravity. But while its compartments seem to float in mid air, Equilibrium can hold over 160 lb. (72 Kg.) of weight. The cantilevered modules rest at a single angled point, giving books and magazines the ability to be displayed without bookends.

Equilibrium is 6’4” (198 cm) tall wide but it can be conveniently disassembled to fit inside the two larger modules and everything ships in one box. It can be put together in just a couple of minutes without any tools or hardware.

Alejandro Gomez Stubbs, Malagana Design’s founder and Equilibrium architect knew exactly what he wanted to achieve when he came up with this concept “The idea was to design a furniture piece that contrasted stylish modern design with playfulness and animation”.

The Modern Light collection comes finished in three modern and neutral colors: Taupe, Ivory or Coal.
