‘Crease’ is a simple and intuitive trompe l'oeil lamp, the opposite of industrial technology. A leather covered cable wraps around and deforms a porcelain tube to create an object with delicate folds and warm lighting. Crease, through its minimal method of manufacture and maximum effect thus questions out loud, "Are we all ready to surround ourselves with objects with complex manufacturing techniques and materials?" Crease squeezes through the cogs, to put on hold, the automatism of consumerism
