Also known as the caliza del Páramo (limestone of the moors), this carbonated rock with vuggy texture and a greyish-white colouring is currently obtained from a quarry in the province of Valladolid.
The small cavities that result from the dissolution of the calcium carbonate give this material a coarse appearance and highlight the different surface finishes it accepts.
Its presence in numerous historical monuments in Spain prove that this limestone has a long history of ornamental rock used for construction purposes.
