Meeting tables

Formed by the intersection of two planes, Ativa’s minimalist, legless design is a forward-thinking manifestation of the blending of form and function. A simple elegance that belies the power and performance it delivers.

“Most table design relates to the leg details. But to me, they are still in the way so why not get rid of them,” said Ativa designer, Joey Ruiter. “Ativa is simple and complex at the same time. When you strip something down to its basic core, lots of other attributes are added naturally. With basically just the top and full height modesty, Ativa has long, uninterrupted lines, it’s completely scalable, has lots of potential options and even accommodates housekeeping with a hidden access door to the center of square and rectangle tables.”

Aesthetics Ativa’s simple and clean, yet highly functional legless design provides uninterrupted seating area for users. Its unique sequentially matched veneers, where each leaf is used in a sequential manner from the same flitch, result in a consistent veneer pattern around the entire table top surface, regardless of the overall size of the table. Standard table lengths range from 8’ to 30’. Adding to the overall design, the veneered under shroud conceals structural elements offering a clean aesthetic regardless of viewpoint.

This predominately wood conference line also features a 1/8”-wide metal trim piece, recessed 1/8”, at all corners, both in the table tops and the modesty panels, creating a subtle yet elegant design detail.

“Ativa’s legless design creates a clean, beautiful aesthetic without the complications and interference associated with a lot of bases which is common on tables of this scale.” said Bob Bockheim, President and Chief Operating Officer of Nucraft.

Scalability For customers in need of a large table but desiring a solution more unique than the standard long, narrow conference table, Ativa can easily address a wide range of room shapes and sizes. Available in square, rectangle and U-shape configurations, Ativa can also be customized to coordinate with the architecture of a space.

Innovation The intersection between the top and the modesty panel generates all the structure the table needs resulting in a very clean, uninterrupted leg space. Ativa’s modesty panel easily accommodates power and data cabling and an optional Technology Pedestal offers a wide section for racked equipment and a narrow section for tower CPUs.

Ativa is the latest conference product collaboration between Nucraft and award-winning designer Joey Ruiter. Ruiter’s design studio is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
