Hoboken, NJ – April 29, 2015 – Designer Alexander Gendell and Folditure, creators of award-winning and innovative space-saving furniture announce the launch of Art Cricket – a multi-medium art easel. Foldtiture’s trasformer furniture reaches beyond the thinnest dining table. The visually and functionally stunning Cricket table that folds effortlessly into a 0.75 inches flat silhouette can now be transformed into a multi-medium easel. The agility of the Cricket is enhanced by a set of attachments that allow for a full range of easy tilt adjustments. The result is a sturdy, all-purpose easel ideal for oil, watercolor, pastel, airbrush and acrylic art creations as well as drawing or drafting. Art Cricket is a Folditure-style easel that will quickly transform any room into an art studio.

The extended work area is equipped with: i) Two adjustable cross attachments that enable the Easel to be locked into a position of any angle; ii) Side expansions that hold stainless steel containers for brushes, tools etc; iii) Edge attachments that provide a ledge to hold the canvas or keep pencils from rolling off; iv) Palette attachments that clip on the sides and remain horizontal at any setting. They include a stainless container for water, or small covered container for solvent; v) Desk lamp clip attachment (Note: lamp shown here is an original 1950s Jielde industrial French lamp, not included). When locked at an angle the Art Cricket easel has two work surfaces - two people can use it, each sitting opposite, or it could hold two different projects at the same time.

When designing the Cricket originally, I wanted it to be a very versatile table - something like a Swiss-Army-knife-of-a-table. The Cricket is a sculptural piece, and I wanted the additions to make it even more sculptural and expressive, as well as functional. Perhaps great art can be created on a functional art piece, rather than on anonymous easels and makeshift tables? I decided to make Art Cricket suitable for multi-medium art creation. I hope this design inspires people to reach for the brush or pencil and have fun creating,” says the designer Alexander Gendell.

Art Cricket is precision-cut and handcrafted in the USA of Aluminum Composite Panels. It is designed for indoor and outdoor use and built to last. Art Cricket is a natural continuation of Folditure’s unique 21st century transformable furniture vision. Like all Folditure designs, when not in use Cricket can be hung in the closet or displayed on the wall as a contemporary piece of art. The Cricket table can be fully opened or closed with just one hand. Multiple Crickets can be clipped together to form a banquet table. Cricket and Art Cricket give you the flexibility to host an Art class and a Thanksgiving party within minutes.
