Crowd control barriers

Memaplex, A-SAFE's patented blend of eight materials and rubber additives is changing barrier protection in the workplace and in industrial areas such airports, car parks and warehouses.

Memaplex is a three-layered material made up of an inner nucleus, central absorption zone and an outer UV protection and colour layer. It is a remarkably robust and flexible polyolefin blend developed and manufactured exclusively by A-SAFE using the very latest technologically-advanced extrusion lines.

During the manufacture of Memaplex the molecular structure of the materials is re-orientated into a straight line. This process gives the material an in-built memory and an inherent strength which allows it to be flexible, impact absorbent and able to dissipate forces through its material. Because of these qualities, A-SAFE barriers made from Memaplex are capable of absorbing and dissipating impact forces, protecting the driver, the vehicle and any workplace structures, as well as saving huge costs in replacement barriers, maintenance, manpower and production downtime.

Traditional barriers do not flex on impact and dissipate the force, but instead simply send the impact force into the floor, leaving behind bills for replacement barriers, ripped up floors, damaged structures and machinery and - worse - injured personnel. The flexible nature of Memaplex offers a huge return on investment for barrier protection and a massive leap forward for workplace Health & Safety procedures.

Gatwick Airport reduced barrier maintenance costs in their baggage handling areas from £300,000 over three years to just £3,000 over five years after installing A-SAFE products.

What's more, because Memaplex is 'wipe-clean', chemically resistant (Excellent ISO/TR 10358) and non-toxic it is suitable for areas where food hygiene is a priority.
