SEDIAGONNA

Sediagonna is a chair to wear. It gives whoever sits on it the elegance of a gown. An embracing chair that steals shapes from fashion. Developed during a design lab at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in which twenty-five young international designers measured their talents against a timeless icon of world design: the Thonet chair. The project began with a brainstorming session led by Denis Santachiara, to be then coordinated by Riccardo Blumer in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini. Sediagonna was among the 5 selected projects of the design lab defined as ‘a daring and ironic interpretation of the classic Thonet: a sexed-up version that fits like a skirt’.
