TV cabinet is a typical and important item of furniture for Chinese families . Its main function is to support the TV set . After various of audio and visual equipments came out ,the design of TV cabinet has to considerate how to organize all the related media devices . This suggests that the needs of a TV cabinet is always changing with the development of technology .

We believe that the TV set will become more integrated and more intelligent in the soon future .So ,for TV cabinet , its functionality will become less important ,while the focus is shifted to its aesthetic value .

For the function part , the cabinet is equipped with one revolving door in its middle part, offering two different working options . The door panel becomes a clapboard after being turned 90 degrees when people need to use the media equipments , other time , the door panel can be hung down , to prevent the inside from dust , and ensure the simplicity.

And for its aesthetic value , we would like to show off the beauty of the timber and woodworking craft . We use dovetail joints to make it strong and durable . Meantime , it is a very beautiful decoration .

The special chamfer for edges makes them look like a paint frame , and the door panels and drawer panes inside the frame which are cut from one timber , their continuous wood grin looks just like a landscape scroll .

Summary :

To redesign the TV cabinet ,we use dovetail joints in order to show the beauty of woodworking craft better .
