Marco Velazquez ARQ

Based out of Mexico City, Marco Velázquez currently leads [mavarq] and the Laboratorio Experimental de Diseño LED (Experimental Design Lab) where by means of multidiscliplinary and collaborative work with other studios, consultants and specialists, projects are researched, designed and developed ranging in variety from furniture to large-scale mixed-used infrastructure.

Marco was a founding partner of the anonimous-LED studio (Experimental Design Lab) in the city of Querétaro, Mexico. He has been a contributor to several architecture firms including HOK Mexico and HOK E.U., Vicente Guellart Projects, F+F Arquitectura, y Bea Goller architects in Barcelona.

Marco studied Architecture at the ITESM campus Querétaro and went on to obtain a Master´s in Architectural and Urban Design (DRL Design Research Laboratory / Master in Architecture, Architectural Association) in London, U.K.; as well as Master´s in Advanced Architecture (Master in Advanced Architecture, Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Catalunya) In Barcelona, Spain.

Alongside his professional practice, Marco has taught courses in several universities such as a Design Workshop in ITESM´s campus Querétaro, and in Universidad Iberoamericana´s in Mexico City. He is a frequent guest and speaker of diverse fora in architecture schools and organizations to present the work of [mavarq].
