After graduating with distinction for his dissertation on theatre, dorøn commenced private practice.
While practicing he tutored and lectured in the ‘theory and practice of architectural design’ course for the 2nd and 3rd years of study at the Faculty of Architecture at University of the Witwatersrand.
Upon immigration to Australia, dorøn was employed as a ‘senior project/architect’ across three different practices over 10 years, working extensively with multi-residential and education projects. He recently re- commenced private practice – re-emerging renewed with many valuable lessons learned.
Through a vast number of varied buildings, realized for an assortment of unique demanding and
highly individual clients, dorøn has developed a broad skill and an experience base across
a wide range of professional architectural services – from project procurement through
design, project development, documentation, contract administration and beyond.
He has worked architecturally with building/s in Australia, South Africa, Portugal, Argentina, Botswana and Malawi. He has had built work published and publicly broadcast in South Africa and
drawings exhibited in Southern Africa, Portugal, Israel, England and the USA.
