José Seguí Estudio Seguí

José Seguí qualifi ed as an architect at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid
(Madrid Higher Technical School for Architecture) (1971) and is the founding member
and director of “ESTUDIO SEGUI”, has received several awards in acknowledgement of his
professional expertise:
. National Planning Award 1985 as co-author for the General Planning Scheme for
Malaga, granted by the Spanish National Ministry for Public Works.
. National Planning Award 1987 as author of the Special Planning Scheme for LA
ALHAMBRA, granted by the Spanish National Ministry for Public Works.
. “Europa Nostra” Award ( Unesco) in 1986 for the renovation of the CERVANTES
THEATRE in Malaga and the best Andalusian Renovation in 1987.
. International Award “Gubbio-97” granted by the Italian National Association of Historic
City Centres for the Special Planning Scheme for RONDA (Malaga) in 1997.
. Special mention at the 1st Biennial in Design for the International Exhibition in Bilbao
(1984), and at the International San Francisco el Grande Competition held in Madrid
(1983).
. National Editions Award in 1986, granted by the Spanish National Ministry for Culture and
the “J.Mª Aguirre” Prize in 1988, as the founder and director of the Revista Geometría
(“Geometry” Journal) that has been in publication since 1985.
. Lecturer at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Granada (1993-2004)
and, since 2007, Director of the “Paisaje y Turismo” (Lanscape & Tourism) Chair through
the workshop “Taller Internacional de Paisaje” at the Malaga School of Architecture.
. 1st Prize in National Tenders for the General Planning Scheme for CORDOBA
(1997), General Planning Scheme for BAENA (2001), VELEZ-MALAGA Park (2002),
General Planning Scheme for CARTAGENA (2002), Land Use Planning Scheme for
the COSTA DEL SOL (2003), General Planning Scheme for NERJA (2004), General
Planning Scheme for ANTEQUERA (2005), Sports Pavilion for the OLYMPIC GAMES
OF THE MEDITERRANEAN held in Almeria (2005), CITY OF JUSTICE in Málaga
(2006), TANGERS CITY CENTER, MOROCCO (2006), Athletics Pavilion in Antequera
(2007), RENOVATION OF THE MIRAMAR HOTEL in Malaga (2008), ANDALUSIAN
