Sales from Enschede, Netherlands
I started in the AV industry more then 20 years ago as a cameraman in the TV and film industry. From there, I progressed to become a video editor, director and producer. It was a very interesting period during which I learnt a lot about communication and technology in TV and film. I then moved into broadcast video equipment sales at Eringa Media. During this time, the industry was moving towards digitisation. Around 1996, we started to sell the first networked non-linear video editors. It was a very new technology at that point, but it was clear to me that the whole world was going to move towards IP implementation. In 1998, I went to work for AVCS as a specialist in streaming media solutions, focusing in particular on IP multi-casting. These kind of solutions are selling really well now, but in those days the infrastructure to support them simply did not exist. In 2001, I joined Hecla Professional in the position of marketing and media specialist. It was at this point that we started to develop a successful new business in LED Technology. Over the years you try to find the right job for your own needs, and my current job with KITT Engineering fulfils those requirements. KITT Engineering employs a large scope of technologies and private R&D to bridge the gap between creative concepts and the final realisation. We concentrate on the main objective of our clients, and pursue "real world" solutions. Sometimes this means we "downscale" high-end (Broadcast, Aerospace, Industrial, Military) technology so that it can be employed in a more practical ways. An important activity is to make an inventory of the concept(s), the targets, the people involved, possible technologies etc. We have learned the languages of artists, designers and facility-managers. On site we adapt and tune the delivered technology. Working in "Non forgiving" environments like TV studio's keeps our quality standards high. Fieldwork is indispensable to anticipate possible problems in the "real world".
