More than a decade of design experience has given Fabrizio a thorough understanding of the design process, from concept to merchandising. His international working and living experiences has giving him a multicultural approach to design. Fabrizio has developed the ability to foresee obstacles within the design process and resolve related issues at an early stage. His constant attention to detail combined with great communication ensure both a satisfy client and high quality finished product.
His professional training is in industrial design, which he perceives as a creative process applicable to any aspect of life. His design method has been applied in projects, which go from architecture and interior design to counseling in commercial and private projects. His work has been published in DM Design Magazine, Design Milk, Yahoo News Business, ID Magazine and Architecture & Design Colorado to list some. He has won gold and silver awards in 2013 A’design Award & Competition, Italy. In 2007, Starlight Starbright Denver and New York auctioned his KSD2 lounge chair under the name of Charity Chair. In multiple occasions Fabrizio has being invited as a Industrial Design guest speaker at the Spanish Cultural Center, and University Rafael Landivar.
In 1998 Fabrizio gets his Bachelor’s Degree from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. While finishing the last semester he take an internship position at Dean Custom bikes Boulder Colorado where he learns firsthand the process of producing and marketing custom build products. In Summer of 1999 Fabrizio is offered a position at the manufacturing facilities of NeoSource custom lights in Denver. He worked long day building and installing custom light fixtures for commercial entities such as Denver Pavilions Mall and Denver children Hospital.
In 2001 Fabrizio Constanza moved to Guatemala City with the vision to introduce in this Central American Country the services of custom furniture design. Fabrizio Constanza Design was born the summer of that same year. The company first account was the design of light fixtures and awnings for 4 grades North pedestrian street mall. By 2007 Fabrizio Constanza Design had design light fixtures and custom furniture for local restaurants and Hotels.
That same year, Fabrizio envisioned a Design Studio that could provide full interior design services. He pitches the idea to two colleagues and co-founds Mint Design Center. Mint, as Fabrizio calls it, was the first Design Studio in Guatemala that combined Architecture, Interior Design and Custom furniture design. Mint success has been the ability to provide affordable custom design product and interior architecture solutions. For five years, Fabrizio directed the design and production departments at Mint.
Parallel to Mint Fabrizio continued his private practice as a design consultant for accounts that require more advanced design solutions. He oversaw an array of projects that go from interior architecture projects, restoration of public art, and consulting to plinths (bases for sculptures) and Private Art Books. At the end of 2011 Fabrizio is commissioned to produce an artistic object to become part of the largest private contemporary art gallery in Guatemala. Then he recognized the market for collectable objects of design.
By 2012 Fabrizio resigns as Director in Mint and endeavored into Zio Mercantil S.A. , his new company. The company subdivides in two departments: Zio Mercantil, and Fabrizio Constanza Design. Zio Mercantil focus on commercialized design products in Guatemala, and consult in projects that require design thinking solutions. Fabrizio Constanza Design specialized in the design and production of Artistic Plinths and collectable objects.
