JWT Bogota, Colombia Selected 2012 Best Corporate Interior Design - Latin America by IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Selected 2012 Best Office Interior Design- Americas by the Americas Property Awards
J. Walter Thompson’s new offices exemplify the concept of "custom made". The sophistication and exclusivity of its design makes it a sober and surprising space. Entering the new Colombian headquarters of this publicity agency is a delightful experience that resulted from the collaboration between AeI´s architects and JWT’s management team.
The careful design satisfied our client´s needs, ensuring maximum productivity by minimizing employees’ movement. The neutral color of the finishes makes the materials’ texture the central character of the project. The lobby´s furniture is comprised of two Londoner padded leather chairs and an exquisite side table designed by Isamu Noguchi, made of wood and crystal, a classic contemporary piece. Cement tiles with geometric/floral designs typical of the local region, were used for the cafeteria´s floor. The ladder is the only colorful element (bright red), which makes it the focal object of the project and can be seen from almost anywhere in the office. Finally, the terrace is characterized by its flexibility, since it works as main cafeteria and venue to carry out social activities. Thus, the observer finds in the midst of contemporary design other allusions to our architectural heritage, resulting in a beautiful and attractive environment for this pioneer agency born in Manhattan in 1877.
