The design for this house parts from the idea of brut rocks thrown randomly on the terrain. Each block contains a specific program/ activity of the house. These volcanic rocks that are typical of the area of Tepoztlan are intervened in a geometrical manner as the space is carved like a sculptor would carve a brute quarry stone. The carvings were intentionally made to resemble the lenguage used in the sculptures of Jorge Yazpik, a famous Mexican sculptor we admire. The inner space is controlled by the exterior as patios and perforations start appearing in the different volumes of the house. The exterior orders the interior.
