a traditional south indian styled home in essence ,done with a contemporary realm the farm house placed at foot of the nilgiri hill,has the best view out amidst coconut grove and cultivable farm around,thus making it the most serene plane in the locale! authentic /ethnic south indian layout with central muttram [court yard] ,made as a live bar with irrigation channel through it[making the feel of a water stream] ,an aisle all around that opens the visual to the living deck [partly below earth] ,open dining+kitchen etc...this makes the home breezy front visitors deck [thinnai] done with traditional pan tiled roof,all walls made to replicate traditional mud plaster [done in cement+red earth mix to make it more durable] the coconut trees cut to clear the land for the home,are re used as planter boxes and pool fences sunshades and gazebo at terrace made with natural thatch [from bali],this relates to the traditional thatch roofs done primitively back home,but becomes more durable than the coconut /palm thatch basic granite boulder stones of varied sizes are made use for the articulation band [a traditional detailing] all along the built facade the fencing stones in quarried granite used as interludes [pergolas] ...a traditional material reflection in a contemporary way the home has a christ court in water,that over looks into the informal living,this expands as the prayer hall when mass is held all rooms have private decks that open onto the view of the green scape around, hence making each volume within a place with tranquility
