Brief
It was important that £21million, 498-bedroom university accommodation in Dundee was visually interesting and modern. The practical space restrictions around the site meant that insulated, single fix panels were a much easier solution than a built-up method and the high occupancy of the buildings required safe and reliable building materials, such as our fire-safe insulated panels.
The Solution
Our Curvewall AWP panels from our Benchmark range combined an aesthetically pleasing wall solution with all the performance benefits of an insulated panel system. The nature of the panels means that installation is quick and the building is weather-tight in just one pass. The panels are fire-safe and approved by the LPCB, they help to stop sound travelling and their excellent thermal insulation properties makes heating more efficient: all critical elements for a university halls building.
Testimonial
James Evans, Keyclad Cladding Specialists: “We were responsible for installing the panels. It was a very tight site, so all cladding was installed off mast climbers and was often distributed by hand. The light weight of the panel assisted with manual handling, which was essential given the circumstances, along with the benefit of a single component installation (as opposed to a built up system), which meant less passes by the mast climbers.”
