In Taiwan, the classical Ming-style chairs are collected by well-off people to express social status and taste. On the other hand, the existence of certain plastic stool is overwhelming because of its cheap price, which has made this kind of stool another kind of “classic”.
Plastic Classic chair combines the two contrasting icons and makes them into one, hence creating a new type of “classic”. It plays between different histories and backgrounds, and challenges the sense of value that people had in mind; it is a chair that has two personalities in one body.
