This Apart-Hotel is part of a large urban re-generation scheme in Colindale, North London. The design sits adjacent to the Northern Line Tube Station and addresses a new public piazza that forms a gateway to Colindale centre.
The mixed use building comprises retail and health club at lower floors while long stay hotel rooms sit above. The top level houses a large bar and social space with views across north London. Due to the repetition and similarity between rooms, these are prefabricated as pods and simply stacked on top of each other and all services plugged in. This results in a very short time on site as well as a high and uniform level of quality. A veil forms the façade that responds to its context.
