KAP is a tabletop candlestick for a standard 22-milimeter-diameter candle. It is inspired and constructed in the glass blowing technique of ‘silver glass’ of the late 19th and early 20th century. Silver glass is considered to be the first form of ‘art glass’ where glass was created to be appreciated for its inherent artistic value as well as its functional benefit. KAP revives this craft into a contemporary domestic object by creating a pure tabletop candlestick which resembles a drop of liquid silver. Round and soft, the form gives the impression of flotation above the tabletop surface.
Kap is also available in a tea light edition suitable for standard tea lights.
