Originally Established by Martin Palleros in Singapore 1992, Tierra Design is a highly motivated, multidisciplinary and multicultural practice. We have established a strong reputation as a design oriented practice and have completed a wide range of projects in Australia and extensively throughout Asia. Our skill base includes landscape architecture, architecture, urban planning + design and interior design.
Tierra embraces a critical and minimalist approach to design. This attitude underpins all the projects we work on. Though we are consistent in our design approach, we do not have a repeating formula of style to our work. Each project provokes a new set of investigations and challenges. The poetic quality of the work expresses things of life; sunlight touching a wall, the drama in turning a corner and revealing twilight's luminous glow.
We challenge traditional concepts of design and cross artificial boundaries of design convention. Through our combined disciplines we are able to fuse buildings, landscape and the environment. We also see design as a means of heightening human levels of consciousness towards nature and life itself.
Our clients include individuals, corporations and governments. For a project to be successful, we believe the client and consultant design team must work together to achieve a seamless integration of all the design elements. Our involvment most often starts at the inception of a project and with our principals maintaining direct involvement throughout the project's duration.
Martijn Palleros is the principle director of Tierra Design. He is an Architect, Planner (UB, Buenos Aires) and Landscape Architect (FIU, USA) whose designs have been recognised by his peers with a number of awards.
